Lead Author on Article in April Issue of Geology

Graduate student, Travis Hayden is first author on the article, "Impact effects and regional tectonic insights: Backstripping the Chesapeake Bay Impact Structure." The article was published in the April issue of Geology - by the Geological Society of America. Congratulations, Travis!

National Association of Black Geologists & Geophysicists

Graduate student, Tsigabu Gebrehiwet, was awarded the Superior Academics Award from the National Association of Black Geologists & Geophysicists. Congratulations, Tsigabu!

Graduate Student Research Fund

In September three students in the Department of Geosciences were chosen to receive this award. Those students were Tsigabu Gebrehiwet, Kayleigh Lim, and Amanda Walega. Good job!

In November three more students were also awarded the Graduate Student Research Award. Those students were Nathaniel Barnes, Ricky Becker, and Adam Milewski! Excellent!

International Travel Grant

Ricky Becker and Adam Milewski were awarded the Travel Grant. Good job!

College of Arts & Sciences Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Award

Mr. Angel Cuellar was selected to receive this award for Spring 2007. He will present a poster at the annual awards celebration on April 6th! Congratulations, Angel!!
