Course Procedures
My intention is to provide the information on two modern methods of
basin analysis, backstripping and sequence stratigraphy in order to use
them in your thesis or future work. Thus, practical hands-on exercises
and projects will be provided. As graduate students it is necessary
for you to be aware of the research that is being done in the field that
uses, is used for, and bears directly on these techniques. Thus,
literature review and discussion will be an integral part of the class.
As future professionals in the geological sciences you will need to be
able to express yourself. Class participation is an important and
required part of this class.
