- OSHA 40 hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) Certification
- Set-up, operation, and data processing of the following geophyisical equipment:
- Geonics EM-61
- Geonics EM-31
- Geometrics G858 cesium vapor magnetometer
- Iris Syscal -R2 resistivity system
- Iris T-VLF (Very Low Frequencies) survey instrument
- Geometrics Strataview Seismograph
- GSSI SIR 10 Ground Penetrating Radar with 100MHz, 300 MHz, and 500MHz antennae
- Using the associated geophysics processing programs and Surfer® to create maps of geophysical anomalies
- Well log construction
- Monitoring well design, installation, and development
- Sediment sample collection and characterization using:
- Split spoon sampler
- Hand auger
- Sonic core
- Direct push soil samplers
- Mud/air rotary grab samples
- Close observation of drill rigs
- Hollow stem auger (limited hands-on experience)
- Mud rotary
- Rotasonic
- Reverse air rotary
- Geoprobe (limited hands-on experience)
- Cable tool
- Natural Gamma log collection and interpretation
- Collection and processing data for a 50 hour pump test with nine monitoring wells
- Processing data from In-situ's Hermit 1000 and Hermit 2000 and Troll Data loggers.
- Conducting slug test
- Installation and monitoring of lysimeters and tensiometers
- Field collection and analysis of ground water samples
- Close observation of remediation and monitoring systems from gas stations, industrial sites (chemical plant and oil refinery), and landfills
