Advisory Council
| The Mission of the Advisory Council is to assist the Department in producing graduates that are well prepared for employment and leadership roles in the geosciences and/or success in graduate programs at other universities. The Council's expertise will be utilized in several ways. One role of the Council is to work with the WMU Foundation in fund raising campaigns that will support activities of the Department. Another role of the Council is to advise the Department concerning industry and employment trends so that the faculty can incorporate curriculum changes to make graduates of the Department as competitive as possible. In this advisory role, the Council will work with the Department faculty in formulating long-term plans for the Department. The Council will also serve as an advocate of departmental needs and activities by presenting is collective views to the administration or other internal or external entities.
