Student Code and Academic Misconduct.

"A student who chooses to enroll at Western Michigan University assumes the obligation for conduct that is compatible with the University's mission as an educational institution. While students have the privilege to enroll at the institution of their choice, choosing to enroll at Western Michigan University requires sa student to become aware of, and abide by the behavior standards of the University. Ignorance of acceptable boundaries of student behavior as contained in the Student Code is not a basis for excusing inappropriate behavior."

-WMU Student Code, pg. 6

The full WMU student code is available online at: http://osc.wmich.edu/

As educators (TAs and faculty!), it is important that we maintain high standards of academic integrity. Cases of suspected misconduct should be referred to the WMU Office of Student Conduct. The procedures and policies are described in full on the OSC website. More information regarding these procedures and the definitions of Academic Misconduct are delineated in the attached power point.
